CBC Design Policy for ROHS Directive.

We manufacture bespoke and sub assembly products for industrial applications. We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and it is our policy that whenever possible, all products manufactured by the company should utilise components which are free from lead and other hazardous substances restricted by the directive. As a result, all printed circuit boards containing lead were phased out by June of 2005 and we no longer use lead tinned pcbs for any of our products including items which fall outside the scope of the directive. We source all components from suppliers who certify that the goods are compliant with the ROHS directive.

CBC Design policy for WEEE Directive.

We manufacture a range of sub assemblies or electronic equipment designed for installation into large scale fixed industrial installations or locations that are exempt from the scope of the directive such as vehicles.

FIXED INSTALLATION - defined within the EC frequently asked Questions literature as a combination of a number of items of equipment, systems, finished products and/or components installed or assembled at a given place to operate together to perform a specific function but not intended to be placed onto the market as a single functional or commercial unit.

All products produced by the company are produced for a fixed industrial application or are a sub-assembly designed to be installed by the end customer into large scale fixed applications or vehicles. CBC Design products are therefore not covered by the directive however we are willing to accept the return of any CBC Product (subject to written authorisation) for recycling by an approved electronic recycling agent. Fees for this service will be provided by quotation on a case-by-case basis and will vary according to the size, nature and location of the goods.
